Why I Added Inositol to My Routine
If you’ve ever gone down the PCOS rabbit hole, you’ve probably seen the word Inositol pop up a few hundred times. It’s technically a B-vitamin (B8), but more importantly, it’s one of the few supplements that’s actually backed by science for hormone and metabolic health.
For me, dealing with PCOS and perimenopause in my 40s, Inositol has become less of a supplement and more of a reset button - one that helps my body listen again.
What It Is (and Why It Matters)
The biggest factor behind most PCOS symptoms - acne, hair thinning, stubborn belly weight - is insulin resistance. When your cells stop responding properly to insulin, your body pumps out more of it. That excess insulin then tells your ovaries to make more androgens (male hormones), which leads to the lovely combo of breakouts, hair loss, and hormone chaos.
Inositol works like a cellular messenger, helping your cells respond to insulin again. Better insulin sensitivity = lower insulin levels = calmer androgens.
It’s the behind-the-scenes fix for a lot of what we see on the surface.
What I’ve Actually Noticed
Since starting Myo + D-Chiro Inositol, I’ve noticed subtle but meaningful shifts:
Benefit | How It’s Helped Me |
Metabolic Stability | Fewer sugar crashes, steadier energy. The 3 p.m. slump isn’t as brutal. |
Cycle Regulation | In general, the extremes have softened - less PMS, fewer “surprise” migraines, less extreme cramping. |
Androgen Reduction | My acne has chilled out, and my hair feels a little stronger - not magic, but getting there. |
If you decide to try it, look for the combined form: Myo-Inositol + D-Chiro Inositol.
That’s the balance found naturally in the body’s plasma and seems to be the most effective for restoring ovarian and metabolic function.
I take mine in the morning with breakfast
This isn’t a miracle powder - it’s support.
I’m still navigating hormone swings, energy dips, and all the fun that comes with 40+ womanhood, but this one feels like it’s helping at the root.
